Advising editors to upgrade to the new SelfGuide Recorder

Earlier this year, we introduced the new SelfGuide Recorder with a lot of enhancements like:

  • Launch the SelfGuide Recorder from the browser
  • A visual control bar to interact with the SelfGuide Recorder
  • No additional authentication needed

For more information, see the product update or watch the webinar.

The majority of editors have already switched to the new SelfGuide Recorder, but not all. With this release, editors using the old SelfGuide Recorder will be notified and advised to upgrade to the latest version.

At the end of this year, the new SelfGuide Recorder will become mandatory and the previous version will no longer be available.

Bug fixes

The following bugs have been fixed:

  • Creating a recording on a display with a resolution above 3000 pixels resulted in an incorrect step action
  • The SelfGuide Recorder crashed when the Microsoft Windows Secure Desktop was displayed while creating a recording
  • Keyboard navigation in the Instruction Viewer did not work when the step image did not have focus

The first two bug fixes require the SelfGuide Recorder to be upgraded to atleast version 2.203.
