Manage embeds

To further strengthen the security and governance capabilities of SelfGuide, we have introduced new functionality for administrators to manage embeds.

An embed provides an alternative method to access content without requiring user authentication. Previously, once an embed was created, there was no option to revoke access if the embed was no longer needed or had been shared unintentionally.

With this release, administrators can:

• View all created embeds, and for each embed when it was created and by who
• View embed usage, including how often an embed is accessed and when the last access occurred
• Revoke embeds when access should no longer be available

When a revoked embed is opened, users are informed that the embed is no longer available, effectively making it inaccessible as if it never existed.

Image as step

Creating instruction steps typically requires the SelfGuide Recorder. However, recording is not always possible or practical, for example when creating instructions for:

• Mobile devices and tablets
• Devices without a traditional display or input method, such as printers, alarm systems, or medical devices
• Non-digital processes, such as operating physical equipment

Previously, these types of instructions required a recording to be created from screenshots or photos before the images could be used in an instruction. The Instruction Editor has been enhanced to allow images to be added directly as instruction steps, eliminating the need to create a recording first.

This functionality was previously available as a preview and is now generally available to all customers.

Image rendering improvements

Several improvements have been made to image rendering within both the Instruction Editor and Instruction Viewer.

By reducing unnecessary re-rendering of images, the user experience becomes smoother and more responsive. These changes also minimize visual effects such as image flickering during editing and viewing.

Bugfixes

• Fixed an issue where actions performed at the top or left edge of the screen could not be converted into an instrction step
• Fixed an issue where the Add Step button in the Instruction Editor did not respond when clicking the + icon while steps were available in the left lane
