Significant performance improvements make the User Guide library load faster, with up to 10x shorter loading times in the most demanding scenarios.
The User Guide library is a frequently used area within SelfGuide. Depending on factors such as the number of user guides, user guide content, content channel usage, and user permissions, loading times can vary significantly between tenants and users.
To improve the user experience, we have optimized the underlying code responsible for loading the User Guide library. In extreme cases, these improvements can reduce loading times by up to a factor of ten.
These optimizations also provide performance benefits across several other areas of SelfGuide.
Creating instruction steps typically requires the SelfGuide Recorder. However, recording is not always possible or practical, for example when creating instructions for:
Previously, these types of instructions required a recording to be created from screenshots or photos before the images could be used in an instruction. The instruction editor has been enhanced to allow images to be added directly as instruction steps, eliminating the need to create a recording first.
This functionality is currently available as a preview while the functionaliy is being finalized. If you are interested in early access, please contact support@selfguide.com.
Images are a core part of the SelfGuide experience. As a SaaS product, image loading and rendering are partly dependent on browser capabilities and behavior.
Several improvements have been made to the way images are cached and delivered, taking security, performance, and compatibility into account. These enhancements help improve:
Automating content channel management has been made easier with the addition of a new REST API endpoint. The endpoint provides a direct overview of the content channels a user is assigned to.
