11 July - Visualize same page after using an Instruction

This article is from before the rebranding to SelfGuide. Text and images can include the old product name ProductivityPerformer or its abbreviation PP.

Are you doubting which Instruction you need? Do you need to update the properties of a few instructions? We have made this kind of scenarios easier by returning to the same page after opening an Instruction. Read more about this and other changes below.

Visualize same page after using an Instruction

Working in the Instruction library has been made easier by returning to the page shown before an Instruction was opened. Example scenarios where this behavior improves usability:

  • Opening an instruction to see if it contains the expected information
  • Updating properties of several Instructions after each other

This behavior is applicable when viewing an Instruction, not when opening the Instruction editor.

Animated crosshair to improve visibility

The crosshair, the blinking red circle, used to indicate the location of the action on a step has been animated. When going from one step to another step in the Instruction viewer, the crosshair will move from the previous spot to the new spot. This animation makes it easier to follow the Instruction.

Help button opens the help page

The navigation pane in SelfGuide contains a Help button, available to find answers to your own question. In time, the information to answer questions has grown. A new help page is designed and build to combine all available information. It contains links to Instructions, the knowledge base and the status page. The Help button will open the new help page from now on.

Suggest to update Recorder

Telemetry information indicates old recorder versions are still in use. Using an older recorder version is not supported, can cause unexpected behavior and does not include recent improvements.

Editors using an older version of the recorder will be informed and directed to update the recorder, each time the recorder is started.

Bugfixes

  • Switching between the last step of an instruction and the back matter did slide the image
  • While saving changes in the Instruction editor the loader was shown incorrect
