SelfGuide instructions can now be seamlessly integrated into third-party applications, allowing users to access these instruction directly within the third-party application—no need to navigate to SelfGuide separately. This significantly enhances the distribution of instructions across the IT ecosystem.
The embed functionality enables editors to integrate SelfGuide instructions in third-party applications. It's the best of two worlds:
This new functionality has been in preview for several weeks. During this period, the functionality has been used, feedback was gathered and processed and required control for the admin is added. As result, we are delighted to make this functionality global available for all customers.
Admins have control over the ability to share content with guests. The control to enable this functionality has been moved to the new Sharing within the Settings. A more intuitive place to enable guest access.
The LMS integration is build upon the LTI 1.3 industry standard. The security of the LTI 1.3 implementation in SelfGuide has been improved by giving each SelfGuide tenant a own security contract for the communication with the LMS. Existing customers using this integration should update the jwks setting within the LMS. See the instructions below for more information about the new available jwks endpoint.
Normal maintenance requires a restart of the tenant API from time to time. The required time to startup has been improved significant by moving required processed to the background.
