Revamped instruction editor

The revamped instruction editor is here. This new editor offers enhanced functionality for creating instructions using the SelfGuide Recorder and introduces a more flexible and efficient way of working.

In the new editor, the workflow is reversed. Recorded steps are no longer added automatically to an instruction. Instead, all recorded steps become available to the editor, who can then decide which steps to include. This gives editors more control and makes instructions easier to create and maintain.

Key improvements include:

• Initial instruction creation: after recording, no steps are added by default.
• Updating existing instructions: multiple steps from a single recording can now be added or updated at once.
• Step management: easily reorder steps within an instruction.
• Bulk actions: remove, hide, or show multiple steps in one go.

The revamped instruction editor is currently being rolled out and becomes available after a one-time migration. This migration is performed in the background, outside business hours, and requires no action from editors. It has no impact on daily usage.

Instruction editor tour

A new guided tour has been added to the instruction editor. The tour is shown each time the editor is opened, until the user chooses not to see it anymore.

This tour is powered by the brand-new SelfGuide University and helps onboard both existing and new editors, ensuring they get the most out of the new editor experience.
